Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1997 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. The singer has recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. The endorsement earned her some attention. Celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music for a love rather than as a job. The singer began to write her own songs. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an appreciation for the style of Bjork. When her mother informed her that her music would not just help her gain fame, but also make others see their significance within the global community and see how they can benefit from her songs She decided to start performing publicly. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order so that people can see their own importance and how they can affect the world. Her family didn't be aware until 14. Aurora wasn't a dream. She just loves to write songs. According to her, she believes music can make any person feel better.
